Norm Nikkel led the attack from his defensive position with a goal and two assists. Other Buzzard scorers were Ron McMillan, Howie Carty, Emy Le’ttoullier, and Doug Ireland. Greg Smith led the Warrior attack with a goal and two assists; other goals went to Ted White and Terry Mitchison. Canadians kept the Drillers off balance with a strong fore- checking game en route to an 8-4 triumph. Leading the Canadians at- tack were Rick Poliquin. with a goal and three assists and John’ Payne. with two goals and’an assist. Other Canadian scorers were Lanny Gregory, Tony Zoobkoff, Tom Pike, Dean Laravee, and Jim Tapp. Larry Brown and Rene Marleau each had two for Drillers. Backed by a strong perfor- mance by goaltender Bill Swint and a hat trick by Ron Brown, Old Crows upset Fire- fighters 6-3, Other scorers for the Crows were John Pain, Les Brant and Dave Rupert. Murray Chatwin led Fire- fighters with a goal and two assists, with other goals going to Frank Hawerchuk and Steve Sentes. Although kept off the scoresheet, Ken Frances of Firefighters retained the in- dividual scoring lead with a league-high six goals and three assists for nine points, one ahead of John Payne and Rick Poliquin of Canadians. Top goaltender (at least 2 games played) is John Phillip- son of Firefighters with a 2.33 goals-against average in three contests. The competition pitted the various Totem College Athletic Association teams in a marathon one-day volleyball extravaganza. _ In its first game, the Blues doubled Cariboo College 15-7 and 15-6. The Cap Col- lege team continued undeated through the balance of its four matches, downing Victoria’s Royal Roads Military College three games to two and New Westminster's Douglas Col- lege two straight. The Blues clinched the tournament with a 15-9, 11-15, 15-9 victory over Vancouver Community Col- lege.
