International college to hold

CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL
College (CIC) presents its fifth
annual open house, “Oh Nippon
Matsuri!"’

This Japanese Culture Festival
is a non-profit event open to the
public. It takes place on Saturday,
Oct, 2, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
on the North Vancouver campus,
2420 Dollarton Hwy.

CIC, founded in 1987, is a
post-secondary institution with
two campuses located in Nelson,
B.C. and Vancouver,

The mission of CIC is to
educate global citizens — individ-
uals who understand their own

and other cultures from a global
viewpoint and who are committed
to developing the knowledge,
problem-solving strategies and
compassion needed to participate
fully in a global society.

At CIC, more than 600 Japa-
nese students experience an in-
tegrated program of academic
studies, experiential learning and
campus life activities that max-
imizes the benefits of study
abroad in a safe yet challenging
multicultural environment,

community attended this event.

the Japanese food fair and tradi-
tional cultural activities, listening
to traditional folk tales, par-
ticipating in Japanese games,
making your own computer-
generated bilingual business cards
and browsing through the aca-
demic displays.
