buffs flock

EDGEMONT VILLAGE is a mini Mecca for those inter-
ested in keeping fit in a friendly, informal atmosphere.

For the past eight years, fitness
classes have been held in the St.
Catherine’s Church Gym at 6:15
p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays.
Under the tutelage of instructor
Heather Henderson, these classes
specialize in half ‘low impact”’
and half **jumping and running”
for the cardiovascular portion of
the workout.

Popular with beginners as well
as those who have been exercising
for a long time, this class is ap-
pealing because of its moderate
format, uncrowded conditions and
great music.

Henderson has been teaching
fitness on the North Shore for 12
years and is certified with BCRPA.

Classes begin Sept.12 and run

Edgemont United Church.

Kates specializes in taking fitness
minded women safely through
their pregnancies and post natal
aftermath. In addition to instruc-
tion, Kates passes on tips on
health, pre-natal problems and
parenting.

Many friendships have begun at
these classes, which run at 5:30
p.m., Monday and Wednesday and
