And in this case, in a roundabout way, Lisa got the message. Unbeknownst to Gary, a fmend of his, Bruce Brown, placed an ad in the News two years ago because he felt it was time Gary met a nice lady. It was a typical ad : “Young man, 28, outdoor type, financially - secure, would have it, the phone rang and a friend of Gary's had to be taken to the hospital. So five minutes after the initial meeting, Gary had to leave. Lisa waited. And waited. And waited. Just about ready to give up, Gary finally returned. This time, things went home on the island. Currently in the final stages of construction, Gary and Lisa’s new home is on the south west side of Bowen Island, high on the top of a cliff overlooking the ocean. How romantic can you get? Contest winners, Gary and Lisa were selected and contacted by the News.
