Naazish Khan, the mother of a two-month-old baby, was strangled and beaten to death on Dec. 10, 1993. Crown lawyer Mary-Ann Booth said Shazia Khan was in the store using a credit card belonging to a man. Police searched Shazia Khan and a second credit card in a different person’s name was found. The second credit card was reported missing nine months before. Myers said the card Shazia Khan was using belonged to a friend. Shazia Khan took the sec- ond card away from friends and although possessing it, she had no intention of using the credit card, said Myers. Shazia Khan is one of the couple’s five children. Shazia Khan was born in London and came to Canada with her fam- ily when she was one year old.
