NicCredie Sports Reporter GOING INTO this year’s senior B lacrosse season, North Shore In- dians president Frank Baker had one guarantee — his team would be playing in the President's Cup, the Canadian Senior Lacrosse Championships. As hosts of the annual tourna- ment, the Indians automatically qualified to be one of the six teams competing for the ‘Stanley ’ Cup” of lacrosse. After winning the West Coast senior B title in a thrilling series against the Burnaby Lakers, the Indians got down to the real prize they have played for all season. In their opening round-robin game last Thursday night at the Lonsdale Arena, the Indians took another step up the ladder with a decisive, focused 8-5 effort over New York State’s Tuscarora Thunderhawks, Despite the aquisition of a number of WLA all-stars at the beginning of the season — in- cluding league MVP Dwight Maetche — it was an Indians veteran, captain Wayne Baker, who fed the way.
