Doug Collins says ‘mostot our

but religion.” Task -- what does
the word ‘religion’ mean to Mr.
Collins?

Webster's Dictionary gives this
meaning: any specific system of
behet, worship. conduct, ete. in.
volving a code of ethics and a phi-
losophy (e.g. the Christian
religion, the Buddhist religion,
etc.)

It seems reasonable to me that
those who call themselves Chris-
tians would attempt to live their
understanding of the beliefs,
ethics, and philosophy of their
religion. For myself, an active par-
ticipant in the United Chureh of
Canada, that incorporates such
belief’s as:

Mr. Collins’ vocabulary of
“pro-panse, White Anglo Saxon
Protestant, bunch of refugees,
Wimpland, ete. is for me a sad
commentary on his philosophy.
The church, as a human institu.
tion, is undeniably imperfect. Sul,
I celebrate its religion, based on
concepts of Tove. hope,
forgiveness, trust and the worth,
suncuity and dignity of al persons,
Ho Mir. Collins wishes to tesearch
Gnited Church statisties, he will
find that it attempts to address
these issues both at home and
abroad. Tf seems the God he
understands would indeed be dead,
