Squire Jones. As a boy his
mother called him “*Squire’’
hecause she and her husband
had known someone called ©
Squire Jones. ‘and liked him.
so well that they called their
own. son by the same name.

Randall left England, and
came out to Oregon and here
somewhere up the Upper
Williamette River he and his
wife had a lovely farm::

ville- was a company town, a
house was built for them, a
very fine eight-room house.
The Randall’s home and
others were at first supplied

rented to prevent someone

single men were charged $25
a month for a cabin and
