While media pronounce a buovant and improving cconomy, we see no change in the huge nur of people nceding, food assis- tance each w High rent costs and the urgent, unexpected expense of daily livi bined with reductions in government assistance mean many people simply don’t have enough money to feed themselves and their families properly. Gratitude, humility, hope ... these are emo- tions that surface when we realize how wonder- ful it is that we have vour support to deal with the problem of helping those in need to have adequate food. During the past vear, we helped 7,000 peo- ple per week by providing bags of food that were donated on behalf of.concerned people “jike vourself — neighbors who want to help their neighbors during their time of need. Your support has enabled us to expand the number of distribution depots in Vancouver, Burnaby and the North Shore from 14 to 16 in the past year, improving access for recipients.
