In town to shoot movie-of-the-week Alibi, Spelling showed up as a bninette, renderiig, her incognito. Priestley took time to speak of another 90210 alumnus, Handsworth grad Camero Bancroft. Bancroft is in Florida on the set of his new | TV series, The Cape, which reportedly wraps filming this week. Expect Bancroft back home soon, said Priestley, who was to remain in Vancouver a further couple of days to direct an episode of Onter Limits, With the opening of the new store at Burrard and Robson, Roots closed its two smaller Robson Street boutiques, con- solidating clothing and !cather goods in the one location. The store reveals a new look for the Canadian cloth- ing company. Designed by architect Diane Bald, who is married to Budman, it com- bines clements of urban and country. Douglas fir, cherry wood and leather are used for the sleek fixtures. The 4,000-square-foor space also accommodates Roots’ new feather firniture collection, the Coach House. - Bald said the company had so many requests for the large Iralian leather chairs in the shoe departments of Roots’ Toronto-area stores that the company eventually decided to manufacture them for sale.
