So says the author of an
independent study that recom-
mends the completion of the
controversial Montroyal
Connector.

North Vancouver District
Council listened March {3 as
traffic engineer Brian Wallace
of N.D. Lea Consultants Ltd.
presented his updated study of
the implications of linking
Montroyal’ Boulevard  east-
wards. to . Lonsdale via
Rockland.

The report was commis-
” sioned by council in September
1994 ata cost of $18.500 and
concludes: “From a technical
transportation viewpoint the

Montroyal Connector should be

built.”

The price tag for construc-~

tion of what is envisioned as a
two-lane road with occasional
parking bays is pegged at $1
‘Million, although. opponents
insist that costs will be higher.
