THE VANCOUVER Skating Club held their annual Awards Banquet on Sunday, May 1. Club skaters were recognized for their accom- 1994 skating season. Skaters received their Canadian Figure Skating Association certifi- cates, pins and medals for tests completed in the categories of: figures, freeskate, dance and artis- tic imprression. Nristen Cartwright (Grade 8, Handsworth Secondary) received the Amateur Instructor of the Year Award and Kendra Greenslade (Grade 9. Sentinel Secondary) — received the Citizenship Award. in April, 12 Club skaters went to compete in the Spring Festival Figure Skating Competition in Portland, Oregon. The next competition is the May 19 to May 22 at the South Surrey Arena. The Vancouver Skating Club provides skating opportunities for skaters at all levels 12 months of ihe year.
