8 - Sunday, Cctober 6, 1991 - Norih Shore News MAIL BOX Voters want more than ‘mud Dear Editor: When will we begin to see an election campaign which focuses on an honest, viable platform, one which intends to work towards the solutions we are seeking in this province? Instead, the two major parties in British Columbia are basing their carapaigns on three things: I) the “‘sins’’ of what is left of the present administration (as well as those who fell away or were dropped); 2) the situation of the ,overn- ment in Ontario; 3) unfounded fears of what may happen here if the ‘tother guys’’ FLIGHT T linging’ This type of mudslinging and paranoid speculation gives no in- dication to the voting public as to what sort of positive values the candidates hold. We need to be shown who the candidates are, not whom they profess not to be. AS we approach the new millenium, let us fook for alter- natives to this outdated thinking. There are candidates who are looking into a future of ecological wisdom, sustainable economics and honest, truly democratic gov- ernment. These are the men and women to elect on Oct. 17. LIBER “Throughout its history, the Liberal Party has always been the party of reform. And in the 1990s I believe we have the opportunity to rebuild on that reform tradition. “British Columbians specifically want reform of not only our democratic institutions to make them more accountable, but also reater attention must e given to fiscal reform, reduction of taxes and control of the growing $6 billion provincial debt. “I will work to achieve these goals. And asa Liberal, voters can expect me to approach these issues with a hard head and a soft heart. “The Liberal Party offers an alternative io hard-hearted Socred and soft-headed NDP policies. 9 9 AL West Vancouver - Garibaldi Support a Candidate Who Cares — 922-7430 Experience a new level of quality trom Panasonic.
