16 - Wednesday, March 25, 1987 ~ North Shore News BOWLING Cramer rolls to the gold MURRAY CRAMER from the Thunderbird Lanes won the gold medal in the boys’ bantam division of the Youth Bowling Council's Four Steps to Stardom Tourna- ment March 7. The 12-year-old Cramer rolled five strikes in a row in one game and posted scores of 164, 125 and 211 for a 500-point total on his way to victory. He will now advance tn the Ca- nadian finals scheduled ww be held April 10 to 13 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Ryan Jarvis, also from Thunderbird Lanes, finished se- cond in the boys’ bantam division with games of 121, 137 and 179 for a 437 series. Another Thunderbird Lanes bowler, Karla Lambert, won a bronze medal in the girls’ bantam division with games of 107, 120 and 145 for a 372 total. In the focal 10-pin action in the Youth Bowling Program at Lions Gate Lanes, Paul Byrom bowled games of 146, 124 and 129 for a 399 total. Tomas Horseman was top junior division bowler with games of 178, 199 and 129 for a nice 506 series. In the senior division the Scrat- ched the Surface team of Laura Howden, Michelle Byrom and Tamara Van Gelder bowled a three-game scratch team total of 1,323. Howden had games of 171, 152 and 161 for a 484 series. Brian Eskesen was the high scorer for the boys in the senior division with games of 172, 198 and 215 for a 585 series. Bowling in the Lions Gate Ladies Trio League, Joan Esary had a big 234 single game. Jackie MacBrayne was in top form in the Neates Coffee Doubles League when she posted scores of 191, 149, 199 and 201 for a nice 740 series. Marge Gardner, meanwhile, was close behind with games of 191, 189, 175 and 183 for a 738 total. Claude Domphousse was the top male bowler with games of 210, 224, 193 and 204 for an 831 series. Grahame Shott rolled a high single game of 237. In the Royalette Ladies League, Inga Eskesen had a 627 series with games of 244, 204 and 179. Donna Jeffries increased her league average to 184 in the Dug- gan West Insurance Mixed Trio League when she bowled games of 199, 200, 211 and 210 for a big 820 series. In the Northwest Merchants League, Craig Etter had a 236 single game and a 568 three-game total, Peter Teegen bowled the high series for the night in the Avalon Hotel B.C. Ail Star League witn games of 188, 234, 193 and 187 for an 802 total. BOBBY HULL, Frank Mahovlich, Darry! Sittler and ¥van Cournoyer will highlight the list of legendary National Hockey League superstars scheduled to face-off March 27 in the Pacific Coliseum at 7 p.m. They'll all be playing in the special Legends of Hockey: the East-West Challenge hockey game to raise money for Rick Hansen. Al! proceeds from the game will be donated to the Man In MotionTour to raise funds for spinal cord research. The game, which pits players hailing from Western Canada against their Eastern counterparts, will feature both fun and serious hockey. The first period will be serious competition follow- ed by a fun-for-all second frame. A Stanley Cup playoff style will cap the third period. Red Storey will referee the match. Other participating players will include Gil Per- reault, Bobby Schmautz, Dunc Wilson, Bill Gadsby, Andy Bathgate, Ivan Boldirevy, Gary Bromley, Jiri Bubla, Ron Ellis, Paul Henderson, Red Kelty, Orland Kurtenbach, Cesare Maniago, Stan Mikita, Chris Oddleifson, Gerry O'Flaherty, Henri Richard, Garth Rizzuto, Paul Shmyr, Eddie Shack, Deanis Ververgaert and Bill White.
