Whistler opens early

WHISTLER Mountain
opened November 8.

A host of new improve-
ments can be found on the
mountain this season: Located
on a line from Harmony Lake
in Harmony Bowl to a point

near the top of the Little Red

Chair, a new Alpine Platter
Lift will be placed at a cost of
$125,000. This lift will open
up glade skiing and increase
the accessible terrain in the
Back Bowl area.

The rated capacity is 600
skiers per hour, the same as
Blackcomb’s slated capacity
for their new Alpine T-Bar.

the bottom section of Ptar-
migan to the base of the
Black Chair, Whistler will
