*Generous taxpayers have been
given more flexibility in declaring
their donations to charity. In the
past, you had to declare charitable
donations in the year in which they
were made. Any donations that
totalled more than 20 per cent of
your net income were then carried
forward over the next five years.

Now, you have the option of in-
stead waiting to declare all or part
of those donations (totalling no
more than 20 per cent of earned
income) at any time during the
five-year carry forward period. In
other words, you can wait until
your income is high enough to

make these donations worthwhile.

Credit Union will be holding a
seminar on preparing your income
tax return at 7:30 p.m. on Wed.,
March 19 at the Delbrook Com-
munity Centre, 600 West Queens
Road. Cost of the seminar is $10.
