Don’t believe at Bowman's predicuion from beyond the grave just doesn't materialize. At least there's nothing wonderful about 2010. This was the movie that fans of 2001. Only in characters ‘ike Dr. Chandler (Bob Bolaban) do we see a spark of originality. Chandler is the computer genius who designed HAL 9000 and is sent up to re- activate it and find out why it malfunctioned. Boloban looks and acts like a man who would rather be with his computers than ordinary old human beings. He clearly believes that HAL 1s innocent of murder and that human beings were to blame for tampering with his beloved sihcon-chip creauion.
