Van firm wins highway bridge bid A PROVINCIAL Gov- ernment contract for con- struction of a $1 million dollar bridge over Sunset Creek on the Squamish Highway has been awarded to a North Vancouver firm. The ministry of transpor- tation and highways an- nounced Monday that the contract has been awarded to Interland Contract of North Vancouver for $392,199. The remainder of the $1 million price tag for the structure is made up in engineering fees and pre- liminary site work the ministry will do. According to the ministry, Interland will be required to construct a_ steel girder structure 270 feet long with a two-lane, 65-foot wide bridge deck to span the creek. The construction project is expected to get under way early next month and pro- vide employment for 10 people. The bridge will be completed by October 31. The bridge project is part of a 12-year, multi-million dollar upgrading project for Highway 99. Pre- Season Sale!!
