MAYOR OPTS OUT OF ELECTION

Humphreys puts duty to W.Van first

WEST VAN MAYOR
Dernck Humphreys is not,
repeat not, going to run fora
seat in the current provincial
election.

In a formal announcement

Monday Humphreys
scotched lively rumors
circulating for over a week
that he was considering

contesting the West Van-
couver-Howe Sound nding,
either as an Independent or
possibly as a Conservative.

The seat has been left
vacant with the Easter
retirement of Attorney

General Allan Williams, the
riding’s MLA for 17 years,
originally as a Liberal and
