Re Noel Wrights Wed-
nesday, March 17th, column
about the proposed closing
of Hamilton Junior
Secondary School. Although
1 appreciate the author's
Support of the Hamilton
programme, many of the
facts and impressions in the
article are incorrect.

Hamilton School has
never been “a dumping
ground for misfits”. The
school has always enrolled
students with a wide range of
aptitudes and abilities. The
programme at Hamilton was
designed to serve the needs
of all these students.

The staustcs quoted are
also incorrect. Dunng the
entre history of Hamilton
School at least 80% of the
students have proceeded to
Carson Graham and _ suc-
cessfully graduated.

Mr. Wnght mentons his
concerns for Hamilton
students should they go to
Carson Graham. (The in-
tentons of everyone con-
cerned are to satisfy the
needs of all students by
providing the best possible
learning situanon for each
and every one of them.

The Hamilton programme
is the work of a dedicated
staff, enjoying the full and
generous support of District
44 Administrators and
School Trustees Il am
merely a part of that staff. It
is very important to me that
