But although she moved steadily in that direction through her high school years, she is now the owner of a pet store and mother, Alma Chard, is the social worker, recently employed by the Ministry of Human Resources. Both, however, have been staunch volunteers with PHONE 261-3187 es VINA AMAT UE North Shore Family Services with very different assignments and experience. Over the two years they have been meeting, Alma feels tabncs TABLE they have become really good friends. Daughter Vivienne Manning already had considerable volunteer experience when she joined the Family Services program soon after her mother. Her assignment was to work with a young mentally han- dicapped person. They took night school courses and enjoyed other leisure ac- tivities together. Vivienne has found it a very rewarding experience to help Anne move out into the adult world. Now Anne is employed in Vivienne’s Store, and proving to be a very reliable and meticulous worker. Soon Vivienne will be accepting another assignment. She loves her volunteer work, and who knows, maybe one of these days she, too, will be going back to school. The Family Services volunteers generally work with individuals on an assignment basis as did Alma and Vivienne, though Alma also extended her work to serving on the Board of North Shore Family Ser- vices, another challenging job, asd = still valuable volunteer work.
