| Giri N. Van pol 32 — Sunday, February 7, 1999 — North Shore News TWELVE wee members of the 7th Crown Sparks from Lynn Valley gor a tour on Monday of the spacious high-tech North Vancouver RCMP building. Sparks are made up of girls aged sive and six. They move up to Brownies at age seven. Constr. Paula Brown graciously escorted the pink-clad Sparks through the detachment. The girls got a boo at the jail cells where, to the chagrin of some wee ones, “no bad guys” were lodged on that particular evening. The Sparks got to climb through Const. Brown’s police car parked in the detachment’s underground. They also went into the dispatch area where police radio communication is con- trolled. The highlight of the evening was a police service dog demonstration by Chase and his handler, Const. Shaun Brozer. power meets ice force Chase has been on the job atthe North Vancouver ROMP for a few vears. Brown was protected with padding on her arm during the demonstration. During the tour, the only question which appear to stump Const. Brown for a moment was when littl Shannon Merry asked to see Brown's badge. At the end of the tour, Brown got ber wal- let and produced a shiny gold police badze.
