North Shore skiers will repre-
sent B.C.° at the Canada
Winter Games.

North Vancouver's Lauren
Jones and Michelle Yeates and
West Vancouver’s Roxanne
Rae are amoung the 10 skiers
who have been selected to
Team BC based on results
from recent races in B.C. and
Alberta.

“We had a very wide and
talented group of B.C. racers
from which to choose from,”
said Team BC alpine skiing
coach John Trimmer. “In
selecting athletes based upon
results, we avoid the possibility
of selection based upon per-
sonal choice.”

The coach added that he is
confident the skiers will repre-
sent the province well.

The Canada Winter Games
take place in Stephenville,
Newfoundland at the end of
this month.

JUNIOR HOCKEY... The
final home game of the Nor-
Wes Caps 1998-99 regular sea-
son campaign goes today at
Lonsdale Arena.

The second-year team is in
the basement of the Pacific
International Junior Hockey
League standings, with a 4-35
record heading into their final
home game. The Caps close
our the season next Sunday
against Grandview Steelers in
Vancouver.
