the art of drawing up -—
and sticking to — a floor
plan.

Question: We have just
bought a 37-year-old two-
storey home in North
Vancouver and want to do a
complete renovation. The
house needs new floors and
some new doors, the walls
need (o be painted, and we
want to buy new furniture for
the living room. The planning
wiil be mostly in my hands,
and I dan’t really know where
to start. [It seems that we need a
floor plan before we make any

location of windows, doors,

the measurements on your
rough drawing.

To establish a scale, use a
ruler to transfer your drawing
to graph paper. One quarter
