SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD Marcela Zverina of North Vancouver has been selected as a regional semi-finalist in "TEEN Magazine's Great Model Search. Her picture appeared in the January issue FASHION SHE ENTERED the contest on a ewhim, but now that she’s a winner, North Vancouver’s Marcela Zverina is glad she followed her instincts. By Elizabeth Collings News Reporter The 16-year-old Handsworth student mailed out her entry form and pictures to "TEEN Magazine's 1991 Great Model Search more than half a year before she learn- ed she had been chosen as a regional semi-finalist. “IT just decided, ‘Why not?’ So I did,”* said Zverina. As a regional semi-finalist, Zverina’s picture was published in the January issue of "TEEN Mag- azine. Zverina is one of 480 contes- tants chosen each year out of a field of 24,000. Sixteen girls selected in each of the six regions will appear in the January through May issues.
