In this process, you may come to realize that your time and what you choose to do with it are of move value than you would have at first supposed. That may lead you to change some of the other priorities in your life. It was worth it, but as I've gradually managed to fill up my extra two days with about six days’ worth of other commit- ments, it’s time again to tackle my “time budget.”” If we learn to live at a more human, less frantic, pace, we will have a greater ability to make choices that are supportive of a healthy human environment. In thinking along these lines, ve been greatly impressed by a 1980 Mennonite book recom- mended by a reader in Deep Cove. Called Living More With Less and written by Doris Longacre, you can look for it in second-hand book stores or call the Mennonite shop at 533-2844 for a copy. Even if your personal choices are not informed by spiritual beliefs, this book is inspiring in its advocation of the simple lifestyle, and its illumination of the philos- ophy - It's very readable, with sugges- tions and comments submitted by people from different cultures and viewpoints. Next week, I'il pass along some environmentally kind tips from the book as well as those submit- ted by local readers. If you’ve got a comment on this or another environment topic, I'd like to hear from you. Write to Ecolnfo, North Shore News, 1139 Lonsdale Ave., North Vancouver V7M 2H4.
