We all do; even stressed-out Yuppies, when not writing assinine letters to the euitor, such as that one by Judy of West Van. But let’s not turn such an event into headlines. Judy’s probably just upset because she doesn't feel she can compete with the likes of the ever-radiant Divina (Sunshine Girl, April 1) for a spot in the feature. Judy should probably consider a brain implant, along with that breast implant. Sunshine Girls have to be smart as well as lovely to look at. And not to worry, Judy. Divina is undoubtedly gorgeous, but can’t quite be accused of being a red- blooded all-Canadian Sunshine News is the fool? DEAR EDITOR: I have read with amusement dozens of letters of complaint re- garding the Sunshine Girl over the years. The pictures were harmless enough, depicting someone you might encounter at the beach. Your Sunday edition is another matter, The April Fools paper Letter, boy a coincidence DEAR EDITOR: What a remarkable coin- cidence!? Judy Gandossi writes that the ‘‘Sunshine Girl has got to g0,”” (Mailbox, Sunday, April 1) and the North Shore News (in the same issue) hits us with a ‘‘Sun- Lighten up DEAR EDITOR: This is in response to your Sun- day, April 1 issue and, more to the point, your Sunshine ‘‘Girl,’’ Saucy Divina. Saucy is some hunk! I just must have ‘ther’’ phone number. I love che hairy armpits, but I think she could have shown more cleavage. Aprtil fool, indeed! On a more serious note, in response to Judy Gandossi and her ilk, all I can say and all that needs to be said is ‘lighten up!”’ Everything’s coming up roses! I think it was best said in a re- cent Macleans (in the space reserv- ed for Fotheringham’s column) that Canadians have forgotten how to laugh (life being such a serious matter). It’s a point well illustrated in this well-intended but mis-aimed controversy. If we spent our days involved in truly altruistic endeavors, we wouldn’t have time for these petty arguments. And just a reminder, dear: Ralph’s Rent-a-Rug has promised me those blonde locks for the weekend, darling, so please have them back by Friday after- noon....without the massage oil and lipstick stains, please.
