Junior Track and Field team. The 18 year-old NorWester will compete in. the 1500 'm and 800 m.The first competition will be a dual meet, B.C. vs. Washington, Sunday, July- 6 at Bear Creek Park in Surrey. The B.C, team will travel to Sudbury, Ontario, Wednesday, July 9 to represent B.C. against the other provinces. In the meantime, Nor- Westers Track and Field Club tested out Langley’s new all-weather track at Langley'’s First Annual International Meet, June 28th and 29th and came away well satisfied with the result. Gold medal winners in the Birgit Otto selected 3000 metres were Graeme Bowbrick (14) and Wendy Mentgomery (12). Graeme also won a gold in the 1500 metres. . _ Sigrid Otto. (9) easily-won the 1500 metres and 800 metres and took a fifthin the ~ 400 metres. Lisa Parish (12) took a gold in the 800 metres and 400 metres and was a finalist in the 200 metres. Simon Marnow § (i1) received a bronze medal in ‘the 200 metres.. Fifth place winners were Neil Holm (14) in the 3000 metres, Sue Pearmain (14) in the 400 metres, Simon Marnow (11) in the 80 metre hurdles and Kendra Thit- chener (11) in the 200 metres. .
