Let your interests determine your travels

Many people are contem-
plating their first big foreign
trip and don’t know where to
begin. Some don't’ even
know where they want to go!

It seems that each of these
people is considering that
this tip may be the “one and
only” in a hfetime and in-
decision is driving them
crazy. What a position that
has placed me in! Letters
arrive from readers
demanding to know “What is
the best choice for us?”

Every traveller is dif-
ferent! A walking tour
through Britain might be just
the thing for my neighbor
who is a jogging nut but
would be the death of me. A
tour of the Holy Land would
be perfect for some devout
types but it’s hardly the place
to send an atheist prone to
heat rash.

Often, people decide to do
the “Twenty Countries in
Thirty Days” tour, just so

they won't miss anything.
Naturally, they miss
EVERYTHING. Others

postpone the decision for so
long that they never leave
Canada.

Once in a lifetime?
Maybe. Years ago, I ven-
tured to Europe by myself.
Bran considered it a fine
idea — “You've wanted to go
for so long, do it and get it
out of your system.” Well,
you can see how far | got it
“out of my system!”
