SERVES IMPORTANT FUNCTION oe ee praised Dear Editor: I would like to say how impressed I was with the first edition of the Lynn Valley Echo paper. I feel these smaller’ ‘neighborhood’ community Papers are not only interesting, but serve an im- portant function within a thriving ‘community. The Echo was very comprehensive in its format and layout, covering Lynn Valley very thoroughly from the mall, to the community centre to the canyon park and human interest articles on some. residents. Lynn Valley is a growing, scenic, popular com- munity and I feel the Echo offered very good and diverse coverage. I personally hope that a pool will one day be built in Lynn Valley Centre, as this would enhance the community and offer much-needed facilities for young and old alike. A 50-metre pool with all the trimmings may be financially unrealistic at this time, but it isa dream to hope for. I also hope a pub is approved in the area, as such facilities as these and restaurants are. sadly Jacking in the area. T.E. Peck Vancouver Make Draycott house a museum -? Lynas - Valley Dear Editor: The article in the Sept. 25 ; Echo regarding ~ Walter Draycott raises the fol- ~~ lowing questions. Why does Mr. ~ Draycott’s “house, which is now neglected, » remain empty and overgrown? Would it not make a perfect little, museum for Mr. . Draycott’s, and indeed many other local pioneers’, authentic ‘artifacts and reproductions of his memories through his photographs, maps, etc, depic- ting the birth and development of Lynn Valley? : . More than a few people would be surprised to learn through one of Mr. Draycott’s maps, that a flume passed through their property at one time, on its way down to Hastings Mill!
