THE following people appeared in North Vancouver court recently to face various charges: Before Judge William Diebolt on Oct. 22, 1998; Michael Chris Tusa, 34, of Vancouver, received six months’ probation after he was found guilty of knowing- ty abandoning, misdirecting, obstructing, delaying — or detaining the progress of mail on Jan. 16, 1997 in Vancouver. The charge was faid under the Canada Post Corporation Act. Tusa was required to per- form 50 hours of community work service. According to Crown intormation, Tusa was a Canada Post employee who lett a bag of mail in his vehicle trunk for a couple of days. He then threw the bag in some bushes. Before Judge Doug Moss on Oct. 19, 1998: Martin Leonard Thibeault, 21, of Coquitlam, was fined $500 and received 12 months’ probation after he pleaded: B not guilty to possessing mezhamphetamine for trat- ficking purposes, but instead pleaded guilty to the lesser or included offence of narcotic possession. The — original charge stemmed trom a July 13, 1997 incident in West Vancouver; @ pleaded guilty to driving without due care and atten- tion on July 13, 1997 in West Vancouver, Thibeault was required to perform 25 hours of commu- nity work. Before Judge William Diebolt on Sept. 10, 1998: Jong-Ho Kim, 32, of no fixed address, was fined $200 and received 12 months’ pro- bation after he pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting a female, but instead pleaded guilty to the lesser or included offence of assault.
