AA sponsors dry grads

WITH SIX months left until
graduation, the B.C. Auto-
mobile Association (BCAA) is
issuing a challenge to graduat-
ing high school classes
throughout the province

The motorists’ organization ts
offering a free BCAA membership
to schools that organize dry gradua-
lion celebrations that include at
least half of the graduating stu-
dents.

The membership is

to and from work on a daily basis.

we have been saying: that financial
penalties on their awn won't make
transit a viable alternative, and will
just affect thase with the leasi
amount of money the most.”

* BCAA has long advocated a
comprehensive approach to region-
al planning in order to make transit
an affordable. accessible alternative
to the private passenger vehicle for
commuting.

As well, BCAA supports incen-
tives such as HOV lanes, corporate
carpocling initiatives, and telecom-
muting to reduce the number of
SOVs on the roads in rush hours.
