My spies pass along the news that one of the most revolu-. tionary feature films is being shot ‘in our province of B.C., in Alberta he, and in the Rockies over the next two months. Wil be a $20 miltion, 35-minute, first-ever IMAX feature which will be done in 3D and in 70 millimetre. The film is called Wings of Courage. Ws being directed by Jean Jacques Annaud who is famous for his feature films, The Lover and more recently The Bear. The new movie will star Craig Sheffer, from the movie A Kiver Runs Through It, Chartie Sheen, Elizabeth MeGovern and Tom Hulce, Executive producers are Antoine Compin and Charles Horton with Richard Briggs co- producing. West Van's Bob Gray, who has worked on so many top-rated fea- tures — including Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven and the Look Who's Talking comedies — is production manager. Wings of Courage is a story about bureau- crats contracting one of their biplane pilots for a dangerous mis- sion to fly mailbags over the Andes mountains. Unfortunately the biplane crashes in the mountains and we follow the pilot’s struggle for survival against the elements. At $20 million dollars, it’s an all- out and very expensive effort to combat video offerings. Wings of Courage, 1 must tell you, is a very gutsy gamble! Only 130 theatres in the entire world will be able to show it!
