This month the centre is hosting its annual Haunted House which will be open to the public if they dare to enter on Saturday, Oct. 29. William Griffin staff will con- vert the gym into a maze of rooms for a group of Grade 12 physical education students who will deco- rate the gym with all the usual Halloween paraphernalia: cobwebs, skulls, witches’ brooms | Hatchery holds open house STAFF AT the Capilano Salmon Hatchery will -be showing the public the hatchery’s inner work- ings during its upcoming open house. ~~ . During the two-day, free event, scheduled for Saturday and Sun- day, Oct. 29 and 30, staff will be demonstrating and explaining coho adult egg takes, adult trap sorting, scale reading, juvenile fish feeding, coded wire tagging, tag dissection and the reading of the coded wire tags. ! The Capilano Salmon Hatchery plays an important part in the Salmonid Enhancement Program, providing a facility in which over one million eggs cach year are col- lected, fertilized and hatched in carefully controlled conditions. ; The hours of the fifth annual ' open house are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Saturday and Sunday.
