FORSTER’S COUNTRY RESTAURANT AT EMERALD PARK, 350 EAST SECOND STREET, NORTH VANCOUVER, 988-8353 The country cousin of Forster's at Granville Square recently . opened its doors at the regal Emerald Park Lodge. It will be the third restaurant operation to attempt to fill the stately manor house of late North Shore aristocrat and founding fa- ther Col. Alfred St. George Hamersley with the happy hubris of contented diners. As promised, here is a small synopsis of Forster’s new menu. - Emphasis is on full-figure meat and potatoes dishes delivered at reasonable prices: Roast Beef Dinner (Cowgirl’s Cut $7.25, six oz.; Rancher’s Cut $8.25, eight oz.) cooked using the patented Forster's stow roast, low- temperature method that, accor- ding to the restaurant's kitchen braintrust, retains the meat’s natu- ral flavor, nutrition and. tenderness; Roast Turkey Dinner ($7.95); and Steak and Treasure Isle Shrimp ($10.95). But, on the lighter side, there is also a trio of pasta dishes, a four- piece chicken section, including Louisiana ($7.95, with Cajun . spices) and Beijing ($7.75,in ginger and teriyaki sauce), and five seafood entrees, including Cajun Sole $8.95).
