Mailbox __ Collins suffers superiority complex Dear Editor: In your Aug. 7 News I read a column by Doug Collins which | feel obliged to comment on. ft do not know if the column represents the policies of your paper, and } do not know the par- ticular writer, but } do recognize the old Aryan message, albeit | have not seen it expressed so blatantly since the Second World War. fois difficult to believe that such a small column could contain such racial hatred, so [ read it several times, and ended up underlining the number of references to people who evidently do not measure up to the self-imposed standards of the writer. “Ministry‘of Turban Affairs,"’ “‘national racial idiocies,’’ ‘killers, drug peddicrs, crooks and cheats of all kinds,"’ ‘“‘unscrupulous law- yers,"’ “insane media,”* ‘‘Brian Baloney,”” ‘‘do-good daily rags,”’ ‘liars and cheats,’’ ‘‘dunces,”* ‘*mind-rot,”’ and last but far from least, ‘Chinese crooks.”’ But J suppose when your criteria for publishing letters are ‘‘brevity, clarity, legality or taste," “‘taste™* is not required for any of your ap- pointed scribes. Pity! Somehow | always thought my buddies died in the Second World War fighting for the truth that there is no place in the human race for the master race, but evidently Collins looks at it in reverse. He can thank his lucky stars that they died to protect even his right to preach such intolerauce and ig- norance. The problem with supcriority complexes like Collins’ is that he has to keep inventing inferior peo- ple in order to be able to feel satisfied believing he is superior to others. Ken J. Marsh Surrey Reader digs Doug Collins Dear Editor: Thank you for presenting Doug Collins’ comment in your Paper. At my age, and following many years of overseas experience, it is rewarding to read a recitation of strong, factually-based opinion. Of course, 1 don’t always agree with or support Collins’ opinion, he is his own man. He stands for the kind of individualism which developed this North American land of opportunity, opportunity which seems fast fading to the op- portunistic objectives of those who pander to the minorities who plead their position to be more deserving than the rights of the majority. I would not elect Collins as premier or prime minister — he is simply not that kind of organiza- tion man. However, he has a fine boot to use on the backsides of the indolent.
