NORTH VANCOUVER City
Council wants realtors to tell all.

And council will ask Victoria to
amend the real estate laws to force
realtors to provide an accounting
of exactly how a property fits in
with city zoning bylaws.

Ald. Dana Taylor, who propos-
ed the plan, told council ‘it is ap-
parently possible for an unwary
person to purchase a house
without any clarification as to its
permitted or unauthorized uses."'

Under Taylor's proposal, buyers
would be told of any violation of
city bylaws, such as in the case of
an illegal suite.

“LT think this sort of legislution is
long overdue,”’ Ald. Ralph Hall
told council. ‘f think this could
save a lot of people a lot of trou-
ble."

But Taylor later said the move
does not support ignorance as a
defence for those who broke the
city's bylaws, He said the realtors
were the ones closest to the sale
and the ones best suited to provide
the information.

“T think it is the best place to
make the information available,”
Taylor said,

racoons yourself, Adolph reminds
the public that racoons are
classified as a fur-bearing animal
under the Wildlife Act and may
not be captured or killed without a
permit.
