Three days earlier the
team went in to the Grouse
area’ to search for a couple
who had recently moved to
Vancouver from
Ontario. Evan Little and
Jane Shaenaman had intend-
ed to go on a two-hour hike
along the Baden Powell
Trail.

They took a wrong trail,
became trapped by darkness
and were found at 4:55 am.
in good shape.

The rescue team was
called to Grouse Mountain
at approximately 10) p.m.
later that day to search for
two more stranded hikers,

The NSRT advises North
Shore wilderness hikers to
plan ahead. Choose a hike
that can be completed before
darkness. Hikers should also
be equipped with enough
water, food and lights. Prior
to setting off on the hike tell
someone about your intend- -
