To help develop skills and learn
new strategies in community ser-
vice the North Shore Information
and Volunteer Centre is sponsoring
a Leadership Development
Workshop.

“There are many issues facing
non-profit groups today,’’ says
Margaret Ramsay of the Volunteer
Centre. “This will be an ideal
chance to gain new ideas and in-
formation and to share concerns
with volunteer board members
from across the community,”” she
says.

Harriet Denison, a consultant in
organizational development and an
experienced board member herself,
will open the program discussing
Dynamics of Shared Leadership,

THIS YEAR’S United Way cam-
paign has topped $10.2 million,
surpassing last year’s total of $9.8
million, campaign chairman Bob
Alexander said.

The 1985 total will allow the
agency to maintain its funding
levels. ‘We can confirm that fun-
ding at last year's levels is now
assured,’’ Alexander said.

Through United Way’s donor
option program, approximately 10
per cent of the total was designated
by donors to more than 400 chari-
ties of their choice. The balance
will go to United Way’s agencies
and services, and to cover cam-
paign costs.
