Think about what Pro- Choice means. It means the right to make an individual choice. ‘Pro-Life’? means no choice at all - not even for the woman who desper- ately wants an abortion. She is forced to endure a pregnancy at extreme cost to herself regardless of her own beliefs. No pro-choice person would force anyone to make a choice contrary to their needs and. beliefs. The ‘pro-life’ group, however, try to enforce their beliefs and values on everyone. They have no right to do so. They do have a right to re- ject abortion for themselves - but for themselves only. The North Vancouver Community Arts Council sponsored the ten day arts and crafts fair while the members of Silver Harbour had a display of crafts and ethnic foods. The North Vancouver Jaycees hosted the entertaining ‘‘Pet Con- test’’, the Lynn Valley Cen- tre merchants organized a Chowder Cookoff and the North Vancouver Joint Rec- reation Commission spon- sored th ever popular Family Fun Run, swimming and open air activities. The needed publicity was supplied by Shaw Cable and the North Shore News, while transportation for visiting groups was supplied by the North Shore Y.M.C.A. and North Shore Neighbourhood House.
