” Collecting seed is quite
easy if you follow a few.simple

pods are mature and the seeds
are fully ripened.

It is best to pick the seeds-

sizes of small screens. If the.

paper for a few extra days
before they are stored.

Seeds can. be stored in 2
variety of containers such as
vitamin jars or envelopes but I

find 35mm film canisters to

be the handiest. They are air
tight, moisture proof and
black ones keep out the light.

For larger seeds with a lot
of intemal moisture, it might -
be wise to leave the lid off the
container for a few. extra
wecks or add a desiccant :nve-
lope from a pill bottle. If you
choose to use envelopes, they _
should be placed in a moisture
proof container before storing
in a cupboard or fridge. ;
Stored at a constant cool tem-
perature, seeds will remain’
viable for several years.

The rule of thumb is that-
the larger the seed, the longer

it will remain viable.

It is more thermally efficient than other materials, has better
structurat capabilities than anything but alumisium and has the
same rate of expansion as glass which allows for better window
designs. The increased use of fiberglass has brought down prices
to the poinc that it is now a viable alternative to more traditionat
window frame materials, and it does tie job better.
