CS - Wednesday, November 7, 1984 - North Shore News Honored for weight loss MEMBERS from TOPS Chapters (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) from the North Shore recently attended a Rally Day held in Killarney School, Vancouver, where a North Van member was honored. TOPS boasts of many suc- cessful members who have Taken Off Pounds Sensibly, and Bob Oliver from North Vancouver is one of them. Bob lost 59.5 Ibs. in 1979 to become the Provincial Runner-Up King. Oliver has maintained that loss for five consecutive years, and was honored with the presenta- tion of a ruby lapel pin made by Yvette Marchand, Area Coordinator. Oliver was encouraged to jon TOPS by his oldest daughter, Agnes, who was already a member. He often jokes that at his heaviest he thought he would have to get his mext sui from a manufacturer. Bob Oliver maintains that there are three things that help him keep his weight off. Firstly is the support of his wife and family, secondly 1s the regular weigh-in and sup- port of his Chapter, and thirdly is the visual reminder of his trophies as Provincial and Rally Day King.
