on the A other hand HAVE YOU ever 4 wondered why homosexuality is pushed so hard by the media? Wonder no longer. They ‘form a powerful j phalanx in print and 4 broadcasting. ‘~~ J have made that point before. But Reality, the newsietter published by EAL Women of Canada has now made it more specifically. REAL Women is a group dedicated to the preserva- : tion of the traditional fami- sly, which is under threat. ‘from homosexuals, govern- ‘ment, and its many minions. .. Unlike the radical femi- nists they receive little or no ‘government funding and hey try to keep Ottawa _ Straight. The mention of O'Neil is interesting because he was the one who broke the story on Reform MP Bob Ringma, who daréd to say that if he owned a store and had a homosexual on staff to whom customers object- ed, he would put him at the back of the shop. There was nothing new in the item. Ringma had made the remark two years ago and it was reported in the Vancouver Island press. But O'Neil fastened on it and raised it with Ringma at a crucial moment in Reform party affairs. Reform was opposing ’ “gay rights” in the Commons and the national party conference. was loom- ing. Right away, the media jumped on the item like at 2 | Tateates. starving wolves, Preston Manning panicked and Ringma was suspended from caucus, Pious editorials poured forth, most of which gave Manning a pat on the head for doing the right thing, But there ts good reason to believe that most Canadians felt he did the wrong thing. I have no persona! knowledge of what O'Neil is, or isn't, or of what he belongs to. What { do know is that he reports extensive- ly on affairs affecting homosexuals. “Lesbian rights promised by Canada on world stage,” was the headline over one of his stories, “A Victorian dares 10 challenge Reform's view of homosexuality,” was another, and “Fry pushed PM over gay rights” was a third. He has written many others in similar strain, The Sua is of course sec- ond only to the Globe & Mail in promoting the homosexual cause. I resent my tax money going to support this group, who feed at the trough, while damning the hand that feeds them. Should we dare ask what this group does for the ordinary woman? Trevor Lautens is some- Uimes permitted to take an opposite tack but he has deen reduced to one column a week from three. Nationally, the media got their socks ina knot when Dr. Grant Hill, a Reform MP, stated that the homo- sexual tifestyle was unhealthy. Which is demon- strably true, But from al} the fuss that ensucd you might have thought he had raped Sheila Copps. That sort of stuff is in line with the pur- pose of NLGJA. which is to promote homosexual and lesbian issues. Reality reported from the NLGIJA agenda that those SWAROVSKI “SCs issues include “opening communication and raising awareness,” “acting as a catalyst for homosexual and non-honiwsexual journalists to focus on attitudes, work- ing conditions and news contem,” and “developing writing and style guides to ensure fair portrayals and references to homosexuals and others.” Translation: to act as propagandists for the homo cause and to censor, as far as possible, anything that is hostile to that cause. Judging from what we read and hear, muinstream | media bosses seem to accept that. My question: why not hire NDPers to report on the NDP, Liberals to report on the Liberals, Ken Georgetti to report on the B.C. Federation of Labor, and Allan Dutton the state-subi- sidized “anti-racist” to report on race issues? _ SWAROVSKI CRYSTAL No GST/No PST \
