SHARING A Vision of Health,
a 25-minute video produced
for the new North Shore Health
Board to stimulate awareness
and discussion of health care
reform, received a premiere
screening March 18.

An audience of people who con-
tributed to the making of the video
attended the screening.

“We need to establish a dialogue
with the community,” said board
chairman and West Vancouver
Coun. Diana Hutchinson. “This is
the ideal tool to get it started.”

As well as an introduction to the
new board and its functions, the filta
offers interviews with a cross-sec-
ion of North Shore residents,
Viewers visit a family whose daugh-
ter has cerebral palsy and hear about
the importance of home support.

Local self-help groups such as
the Stroke Club and the Hob Nob
club are also featured,

Viewers visit the hospital and
also see how care can be delivered
at home, By meeting peopie in
many different situations, the view-
er is given a sense of the range of
services available in the community.

ings. The volunteer should be abie

A cooking class assistant is
needed to help with a night school
program for adults with mental
handicaps on Tuesday evenings.
The volunteer will assist the instruc-

by a group home on the North
Shore. The objective is to assist res-
idents to develop social activities
and friendships outside the home.
Knowledge of sign language would
be an asset.

A newsletter publisher with
good ‘writing and desktop publish-
ing skills is needed by an organiza-
tion that deals with childcare. The
newsletter is published quarterly
and Microsoft publishing software
is used.

Youth worker assistants are
needed evenings and weekends by a
youth centre. The assistant will pro-
vide support to youth in social,
recreational, educational and
fundraising activities. A class 4 dri-
ver's license would be an asset.

A newsletter producer is want-
ed by a seniors’ care facility. The
volunteer should be available to put
the newsletter together Tuesday and
Thursday afterncon at the end of
