‘nicely balanced’

CUPID'S arrow found
its way into the hearts
of 5,809 home buyers
on the Multiple Listing
Service in February,
reports the British
Columbia Real Estate
Association, (BCREA).

The number of buyers rep-
resents an increase of 1,156
residential saics over January,
1997.

“We are continuing to see
a nicely balanced market
throughout the province,”

says Doug Perry, BCREA
picsident. “Properties that are
well priced for their market
area are being snapped up
both in the first home buyer
category and the move-up
market.

“There is a continuing
immigration of people from
other parts of Canada as well
as off-shore and there is
movement within — the
Province as well that is con-
tributing to this healthy mar-
ket,” he added. “As long as
properties are priced within
the overall income of the

community the market will

prices fall” before they will
make a serious move to buy,
and sellers waiting for them
“to rise” before they will list
their propertics.
