plants and blooms. For the most part, perennials are very handy, and with few
exceptions should be planted now for best growth. Watch for tender new
growth on items like lupins and delphiniums, which should be hardened offfor §
a week ar two to avoid late frost damage. . . .

USING BONE MEAL IN THE GARDEN ;

We cannot stress strongly enough the benefits to be gained by wide usage of
this product. Itis non-burning, long lasting and particularly excellent in prom-
oting rapid healthy root growth. There is one simple ule — use a fairly generous
sprinkling in the planting hole every time you transplant any tree or shrub. Itis
particularly good for giving bulbs and perennials a strong start.
