First Night volunteers sought

HEAR YE, hear ye, First Night
on the North Shore needs volun-
teers.

Organizers of the annual New
Year's Eve celebration of the arts
are looking for people to work as
volunteers ia ticket sales, security,
various venues and as merchandise
sellers.

For the first time, First Night
has expanded to include the North
Shore. Performances, ranging
from ice dance theatre to chamber
music, will be held in four North
Vancouver locations, including

Centennial Theatre, Lonsdale
Recreation Centre lee Rink, Me-
morial Community Centre and
Mickey McDougal Gym. Most
performances begin a¢ 7 p.m.

Centennial Theatre ts offering a
host of entertainers including the
Holly Arntzen Band and the Hugh
Fraser Quintet. Each artist will
perform for approximately a half
hour,

The grand finale will be beld in
the parking lot of Centennial
Theatre deginning ut 11:30 p.m.
