Many of us, myself included, moved to the North Shore when we wanted 3 pleas- -ant neighborhood with good schools and recreation services. We wanted a good . place to raise our large families.. Now that our children are on their own, we empty- nesters may find that looking after a big house and yard is getting to be a chore. If we have arthritis or balance problems, gar- dening, cooking, and house cleaning become more difficult. - Whar is the answer? An apartment with an elevator will suit many older, frail peo- ple. Ideally, the building would be located on a bus route and close to shopping and - recreation. Unfortunately, the North Shore does not have a lot of land available. What there is, is expensive.
