Funds for Friends of N. Van Library

A double score of funding
marked the first anniversary
of The Friends of North
Vancouver District Public
Library.

This year's book sale was orga-
nized by The Friends for the first
time. A record-breaking number of
books and records were on offer, net-
ting a profit of $3,000.

Proceeds from the sale will be

used to create a series of “toddle-
boxes” — themed kits used during
“'Tales-for-Twos” storytime.

Fach box will contain popular
books, accessories such as finger pup:
pets, and parent hand-outs,

The Friends also received a grant
of $7,500 from the 1994 B.C.
Winter Games Legacy Fund.

The Fund will work with the
library to establish a lasting legacy of
the North Vancouver 1996 B.C.
