Program has openings for women job seekers WOMEN SEEKING to enter the labor market or to change their jobs still have an opportunity to join one of two Job Seeker’s Net- work groups currently running on the North Shore. Although the targeted partici- pants are mature women in the 45- to 60-year range, others will be welcome. The 10-week program, which is co-sponsored by the North Shore Women’s Centre (NSWC) and the Learning Resources Group, will focus on self-awareness, goalset- ting, confidence-building, and labor market and training infor- mation. Co-ordinator of the Learning _Resources Group, Donna Stewart comments, *‘Most women under- value themselves and their skills. They find it hard to access the labor market and training infor- mation they need. This program helps with both protiems. We do self-assessment and goalsetting as well as researching the present realities."" Each year the members of the First Church of Christ Scientist at 714-20th St. offer a service of thanksgiving to the coniununity. Readings for this year’s service, which begins at tl asm., will in- clude several references to family life. Time will also be given for spontaneous sharing from the congregation.
